EN TAKSİ App

01.

Intro of case

Even though the name, size and number of taxis changed, the one thing that didn’t change was that the taxi drivers were working as they wanted. When an app called Uber came into life, all Turkish taxi drivers became agitated and started to put pressure on public institutions. Izmir Chamber of Taxi Drivers met with Izmir Municipality and asked for a “different” application.

When the perspective is different, the brief is different. “A taxi app specific to Izmir, but with the infrastructure and support of “smart city” applications. It should exceed the expectations of customers and taxi drivers”

The company that undertook the technology, i.e. hardware, of the application chose us as a result of a tender.

Understanding User Needs: We started with in-depth research, including user interviews, surveys and competitor analysis. We tried to understand the pain points, behaviors and expectations of our target audience
Persona Creation: It was a business with two different sides, taxi drivers and taxi customers. Izmir was different from Istanbul, the city where we lived and where all taxi apps were created and used. For these reasons, we worked on persona creation in a broad framework.
Customer Journey Mapping: During Customer Journey Mapping, two separate studies were conducted within the framework of different habits and different expectations. Customer Journey Mapping for taxi drivers was a separate study, and a separate study was conducted for customers.
Low-Fidelity Wireframes: Our team outlined the structure of each page or screen, focusing on layout and functionality without getting into visual details. Based on these studies, user stories were created and tested.

Exploration and Research
First, we listened to business goals and user needs. Our team conducted detailed research to collect data on user behaviours and preferences. Based on this research, we developed a UX / UI strategy that focuses on user-centred design principles. This includes creating user personas, journey maps. Design and Prototyping: Once the strategy was set, we moved on to the design phase. Here, we developed wireframes and prototypes, tested them with users to ensure functionality and flow, and shared the app on platforms. The one we created for taxis went live on special tablets.

Testing and Iteration: After the initial design, we did not have the means or budget to test prototypes with real users. We developed and updated the application by testing it on the air. And we realised the project delivery.
